Storevång is the open meadowland east of the town of Skanör, presently at high risk of being turned into a built-up area. Migrating raptors pass here in southerly winds.
The disused rubbish dump is on the shore of Höllviken bay. In spring, Common Eider migration can be observed fairly well from here and you can follow the birds gaining height before crossing over land at the Falsterbo Canal. In Höllviken bay, large numbers of swans and ducks are resting, but waders are fewer in number.
In winter, withered plants at the dump attract seed-eaters like Goldfinch, Twite, Mealy and Lesser Redpoll. European Serin and Arctic Redpoll have also been observed.
From the rubbish dump you may walk on along the inner shores of Höllviken bay. This area is relatively unknown but offers a nice mixture of meadows and woods and thus also a nice mixture of bird species.
