Banvallen

Banvallen (old railway embankment) is nowadays a well-used bicycling road bicycling road between Skanör and Ljunghusen. Most of the way it is surrounded by forest, mainly deciduous forest, often with a rich undergrowth, where many song birds nest. There are also some pasture-land and coastal meadows along the shores of Höllviken.

There is a great variety of bird species, especially during migrtion seasons when even raptors are resting here. During spring species like Red-footed Falcon, European Nightjar, Stonechat and Firecrest have been observed.

I the western part of the area there is a shooting range. Don't pass it on the shore side if a red flag is hoisted.
